Amy Hanaiali’i – A Living Legend of Hawaiian Music
This is a rare treat! One of Hawaii’s most popular vocalists, Amy Hanaiali‘i, is performing October 7, 2017 at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. A five-time Grammy nominee and winner of 18 Na Hoku Hanohano awards, if you have never heard Amy sing before, you are in for a delightful evening! Credited with reviving the female falsetto singing tradition, Amy has mesmerized audiences for years with her incredible vocal range and singing style.
Music Scholarship Fundraiser
The concert is a fundraiser for the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival 2018 scholarship fund. Every summer, the Waimea-based Hawaii Performing Arts Festival brings together talented young musicians from around the world to North Kohala to study, grow and perform with professional musical performers and teachers. Now in its 14th year, the program stages more than 20 productions each summer, helping the next generation of performers, singers, and actors gain valuable experience and skills.
The 2018 Summer Festival will run June 26-July 24, 2018 and include productions of Handel’s Alcina, Adamo’s Little Women, Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, Opera on the Rocks, an evening of chamber music, and more.
Beautiful North Kohala – A perfect location for musicians from around the world to collaborate, practice, and grow!
