6 Relatively Affordable Oahu Condos in Kailua and Kaneohe

It was a whirlwind day of showings on Sunday! I had the pleasure of working with clients looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom condo in Kailua or Kaneohe, priced up to $600K. We saw the full spectrum of properties, from itty bitty with mountain views to grandiose with sweeping Kaneohe Bay views, to the heart of Kailua Town activity.

Kailua Town

Kailua Town

The following are 6 condo properties to compare and contrast that are currently listed for sale under $600K in Kailua and Kaneohe:

#1. Gardenia Manor #102

We started in Kailua at Gardenia Manor, checking out a two bedroom unit on the ground level. 333 Aoloa St. #102 is unique because it is one of only two on the first floor, so in addition to the 1,030 square feet inside, the lanai provides another 697 square feet of exterior space.

333 Aoloa St. #102 is currently listed at $525,000 (MLS# 201329974)

The building is in the heart of Kailua, easily walkable to shops, restaurants, and the beach with a little higher price tag at $525,000, to match the convenience.

#2. Poinciana Manor Unit #456

Next, we moved on to Poinciana Manor Unit #456. The condo is a top floor, corner unit with high ceilings and lots of natural light, making it feel much more spacious than its 944 sq.ft. It’s listed for $425,000 and the maintenance fees cover the grounds, pool, BBQ area, and security. It is located convenient to the assigned parking and elevator.

#3. Kukilakila #D

We had planned to move on to see 569 Keolu Dr. #D in the Kukilakila community, but the property had quickly gone into escrow. It’s no surprise since it’s in such an attractive complex bordering Enchanted Lake with easy access to Kailua Beach Park via the canal. This neighborhood is one of my favorites for price, condition, and convenience.

Kukilakila #D is currently listed at $545,000 (MLS# 201326962)

#4. Kahalemanu #4

Next, we visited 47-451 Hui Iwa St. #4 in the Kahalemanu community near Temple Valley. This property was a great smaller unit with good use of space, renovated bathrooms, and attractive staging throughout. The front and rear lanai areas also added a great deal of outdoor space.

Koolau Mountain Views

47-451 Hui Iwa St. #4 is currently listed at $409,000 (MLS# 201330126)

Easy access to Kahekili Highway makes this one easily commutable to town or to the military bases. And, of course, the views of the misty Koolau Mountains are fabulous!

#5. Eden at Haiku Woods A, #A5

We accidentally stumbled into another unit in Haiku Plantation on our way to see 46-359 Haiku Rd. #A5. This unit in Eden at Haiku Woods was the best of the two we saw primarily because the lower level was above ground. It felt very spacious with over 1,400 square feet inside.

Eden at Haiku Woods A, #A5 is currently listed at $485,000 (MLS# 201330124)

The rustic, modern architectural style, along with vaulted ceilings and several private patios, gives this property a lot of unique character. Not at all the sterile box you imagine when you think “condo.” The community setting is a tropical jungle with lush landscaping, winding pathways, and offset entryways to create privacy between units.

#6. Yacht Club Terrace #2706

At our last stop, we checked in at Yacht Club Terrace, overlooking Kaneohe Bay, close to the Kaneohe Yacht Club. The unit at 44-410 Mui Place #2706 was a hit with everyone! The main floor was open-plan with wide windows and a balcony overlooking the bright blue bay waters. The styling was beach casual, and the neighborhood was bright and quiet, yet convenient to H-3 for commuters.

Yacht Club Terrace #2706 is currently listed at $599,000 (MLS# 1305196)

Which Was Your Favorite?

We saw so much variety in such a short amount of time, from the heart of Kailua Town to the lush, tropical Temple Valley. This day was a great opportunity to compare and contrast the condo properties in Kailua and Kaneohe.
