4 Properties to Fall in Love With at Puamana [Summer 2019 Update]

Puamana Summer Report

Business as usual! The beach is more beautiful than ever. South swells have been pumping. The sun has been out every day. Sunsets have been epic. Real estate pricing is holding steady. All following the summer traditions here.

Third Quarter Sales 2019

We had one sale in the third quarter of 2019: 10-3 Puapake Place sold for $868,000 in July 2019. 10-3 is a bedroom on the canal with an upstairs loft – with a great view of the clubhouse from the kitchen.

4 Puamana Properties to Fall in Love With

Currently, there are 4 active listings in Puamana with a median price of $933,000.

My double Puamana oceanfront listing, 136 Pualei drive #3 and 4, is the only oceanfront property available in Puamana, and is in the best location possible. 136 Pualei Drive 3 and 4 is an oceanfront, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 2,400 square foot single-level property with a 440 square-foot covered lanai. Two properties made into one. Four parking spots, double the fun!

24 Puamelia Place: A quiet 1 bedroom, 2 bath with a secluded back lanai area and a peek of an ocean view. 75 steps to the ocean. Listed at $929,000.

71-1 Puapake Place: A 2 bedroom, 2 bath, corner condo went on the market in November 2018 and had a price drop to $937,000

71-3 Puapake Place: A 1 bedroom, 2 bath listed at the end of 2018, recently upgraded, near the main entrance. Listed at $815,000.

Short term vacation rentals are allowed in Puamana. There are quite a few full-time homeowners here (like me) and other owners who stay half the year. But keep in mind, as soon as you purchase a property in Puamana, you can rent it out nightly without applying for a permit.

Before you Come to the Island

The number one thing everyone can do to help is to avoid single-use plastic water bottles or soda bottles. The tap water is fine to drink — it comes from the rainforest in the mountains right above Lahaina. Most condos will have a water filter on the refrigerator or one of those filtered water pitchers and reusable water bottles at your disposal. Please be aware of this and avoid the packs of bottled plastic water and Gatorade at Costco… Contrary to what everyone wants you to believe, Maui does not have a plastic bottle recycling facility, and the trash does not get shipped off the island, so the bottles go straight into our landfill or possibly dumped in the ocean.

Think about how we can make better choices and protect our island. There is a ban on sunscreen with chemicals, plastic bags, and styrofoam on Maui. Let’s reuse and buy local products and protect our Aina.
