Kauai

2nd Best Island in THE WORLD…Kauai, Hawaii, USA

Yes, it’s true, it seems enough people have experienced the magic of our island to have voted Kauai the #2 Best Island in the World, second only to the Galapagos.

Waterfalls and Rainbows are part of everyday on Kauai

I’ve always known what a special place Kauai is, and it’s not just the Real Estate news that makes it special.

Living and working on Kauai is unlike anything I’ve ever known, and while it’s not for everyone, for those that choose to spend more than a week vacation here, there is magic!

By simply viewing a series of photos, you have an idea of the beauty that abounds here, but actually seeing it in person, is breath taking.

By listening to the music, and the many passionate, gifted artists that are blessed to call Kauai “Home” you will sense the love they feel for this “Aina” in the lyrics and stories they tell through their music.  Seeing these performers you understand that their music comes from their deep love and respect for the land and their ancestors.

By exsisting here, even for just a week, you will know you are in one of the most exquisite creations on the planet.  If you are fortunate enough to be able to spend more time here then you have allowed yourself the gift of Kauai and what you will take away with you is a renewed sense of being, a fresh look at the beauty of nature and an experience like no other.

You owe it to yourself to see Kauai, if you haven’t already, add it to your bucket list, if you have well then no doubt you will want to return again soon.

After 35 years of living in this paradise Kaua’i, I can personally speak of it’s untamed beauty and lushness and the incredible adventures I have experienced on this 500+ square mile island. I was once told, “there is this jewel in the middle of the Pacific, Kaua’i” and on that I traveled here…..with dreams of Bali Hai calling. I have not been disappointed and know that no matter how much I discover as the years pass by there is still so much more to explore. Paddling her oceans, biking her mountain and valley paths, bathing in crystal waterfalls, walking her golden sands at sunrise, at sunset…….a jewel……Kaua’i.

It’s a rough life here with temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s most of the time, enough rain to keep the island green, rainbows almost always somewhere, and sunshine to keep the vegetables, fruit, plants and animals producing and smiling. Beauty surrounds me everywhere It’s a rough life living here, shhhh don’t tell anybody, but I’ve volunteered for the job as my civic duty. Life is good!

I have lived on Maui, Big Island,Oahu, New Zealand and that is exactly why I have made Kauai my home. It will be here where I enjoy my “last hurrah”!!! One of the best parts besides it’s beauty are the wonderful people with their big Aloha hearts.

We have lived here for over 40 years, we once tried to move back
to the mainland but didn’t last long. Missed the beauty and the
feel of the island. There’s no place more beautiful and has the
feel of Aloha like we do here.

Yeah… You know what?! I try to found words to describe that island, but also in portuguese, I can not to say exactly about my feelings for Kauai. Changed my life totally! I had to stay there longer than planned, and I came back because I had to. Kauai wasn’t my real life, was not my language, and I found myself, and I was so in love for Kauai! I’m another person after living on Kauai, was less than a year, but, I can not reconized myself anymore.. I’m so much happier… In my dreams I wish go back on Kauai, because I never was so happy in my entire life! It is like a better Brazil… beautiful as some places here, but organized, clean, rich and everything condensed in a such a small place… I have travelled a lot.. and for me no better place in the world than Kauai! So, americans, enjoy it! You can live there!!! I can’t… hehehe
