What’s NEW at the 2013 Mitsubishi Electric Champions Tour Championship at Hualalai?

In this, the 17th year of the Champions Tour Championship at Hualalai Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, there are several exciting developments to watch for this year including expanded media reach, new high-definition aerial photography, and five all new players added to the field of big-name champions.

International media coverage of the 2013 Mitsubishi Champions Tour Championship has been boosted to all-time highs. The Golf Channel will be bringing the tournament to golf enthusiasts around the world with event coverage from 2:30pm to 5:30pm (Hawaii Standard Time), an East Coast prime time start of 7:30pm on each day of the tournament (Friday, Saturday & Sunday: January 18, 19, 20).

Additionally, the graceful beauty of the Hualalai Resort and the surrounding Kohala Coast will be featured from an all-new perspective: high-definition aerial shots from an airplane-mounted camera.

  • Steve Elkington: Having spent 50 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Rankings, this will be Steve’s first Champions Tour Event ever
  • Kirk Triplett: 3-time PGA tour winner
  • Willie Wood: August 2012 winner of the Dicks’ Sporting Good Tournament in New York
  • Joe Daley: July 2012 winner of the Senior Players Championship
