Aloha! Today my mommy and I drove to the west side to Valley Isle Resort in Kahana. Valley Isle Resort is a beautiful, quaint 12-story condo complex on Kahana Bay with 120 units. Valley Isle has 2 buildings; one running parallel to the ocean and the other perpendicular to the ocean (I know, those are pretty big words for an 18-month-old).

The unit we looked at was facing the beach, looking over the grass field and palms trees, with large ocean views. Many of the units in this complex have purely an ocean view.

There are studios as well as 1 and 2 bedroom units. There’s a mix of vacation rental condos and timeshare. The maintenance fees include all utilities as well as basic cable and other items. There are many nice restaurants in the area, including the Maui Brewing Company, where they have some most excellent mac n’ cheese.

Entering the parking lot I noticed lots of parking stalls for guests and friends. There is a covered walkway, lined with pretty flowers and plants, that brings you onto the property. There’s even a fish pond along the way, which also had turtles in it. The groundskeeper was super nice and took a turtle out of the water for me to pet. Shhh, don’t tell.
Covered walkway for rainy days; Pretty amazing the little guys get to live here
We walked to the left to take a look at the pool and BBQ area and after some running around on the large grassy field, we made our way down to the sandy beach where I was wishing I had my shovel and bucket. Lots of people were enjoying the day sitting on the beach, swimming, snorkeling, and paddleboarding. I also got to watch the surfers down at the popular surf spot called “S turns,” or as i call it, “essssssssssss turns.”
What a great path to the pool and BBQ

We walked up a slate walkway to where the elevators are. I really enjoyed pushing all the buttons in the elevator as we went to see an open house on the 4th floor. Mommy told me I shouldn’t have pushed all the buttons because it would take a long time for the elevator to get back to the 1st floor, but hey, i’m not even 2 yet and i like lights soooo…
Two elevators, twelve floors in each building
A couple common items people who know this complex ask about are the old gym and the sandwich fees. The gym burned down a while ago and will most likely not be rebuilt since it is so close to the ocean. They are hoping to create some more green space in its place. The sandwich fees have nothing to do with actual sandwiches…unfortunately, but they will be expiring in February of 2024, which will bring down costs for the owners.
