Traveling from Hawaii

If you are lucky enough to call Hawaii home, then traveling from Hawaii is not usually top of mind. For most that live on the island getting away once in while is always a good thing. It helps with the whole island fever-living on a rock concept. At any rate, there are only so many places logistically that make sense to travel to from Hawaii. Going to Vegas and seeing relatives on the mainland is always on the to do list but what about other adventures? We planned a recent trip and have stumbled on New Zealand. If you have never been its a must. Traveling from Hawaii its a direct flight on Hawaiian to Auckland at just about 9 hours straight. Auckland the city of sails as its called, is beautiful and very easy to navigate. Obviously from there, it is an easy few hours to Australia or Bora Bora but there is really no need to leave NZ. The island is made up of two sections the North and the South island. The north has the big trendy city of Auckland and to the south is an amazing little slice of heaven called Queenstown. There are some amazing spots along the way such as Christchurch, Wellington, Rotorua and of course you can always stop and see where they filmed The Lord Of The Rings movies. There is everything from glow worm caves to white water rafting in NZ.

The food in New Zealand is amazing almost anywhere. They grow almost all their own food and are smart enough to not use pesticides or GMOs. The dairy is amazing and meat is a staple of the area. The dollar is currently very strong and there are some great duty-free buys to be had. On the south island is the most amazing town of Queenstown. A short flight from Auckland puts you in this amazing area with fresh lakes and mountain ranges. The seasons are opposite the US with Summer starting in December and Winter in July. The climate is amazing as its never too hot or cold. All of NZ has some great outdoor adventures from bungee jumping to scenic hikes through the mountains. The bungee was started in NZ and home to jumps, swings, zip rides and climbs. The island is home to some great sports teams from basketball to the rugby, All Blacks. There is really something amazing to see or do in any part of this picturesque land. If you have not had a chance to put NZ on your radar take a look, you will not be disappointed in the slightest.

We have been lucky enough to travel to NZ numerous times and I would be more than happy to share more details.
