The Value of a Good Property Manager

Do you own an investment property? Do you self-manage? Or, do you employ the service of a professional property manager? How’s that working for you?

If you own investment property, you know the value of a good property manager. You know that who you hire to manage your property is critical. Critical to your success and critical to a smooth and seamless process.

Over the years, I’ve employed my share of property managers. Thankfully, most of them were quite competent.  Professional. And, most did a decent job of overseeing our investments and staying in compliance. I’ve been happy with the services of those I’ve employed and I’ve had no complaints. But, there’s happy and then there is ecstatic. Ecstatic may sound like a poor choice of words when it comes to property management, but simply defined, ecstatic mean overwhelming happiness. And, I’m overwhelming happy — happy with my current property managers who continue to outperform my expectations.

Let me introduce you to Diana Ricciuti and Jill Lawrence. They’re lovely. And, they’re extremely competent and knowledgeable. But, they are so much more. They truly care about their clients and their client’s properties. And, they pay attention to detail. Extreme attention. Nothing goes unnoticed and they go the extra mile to make sure that the properties they manage are well-cared for and the people they serve are 100% satisfied.

Case in point — I recently purchased a little condo on the north shore. It’s not a high-end luxury property nor is it a big money maker, but no matter. They give it the same white glove service that they give all of their properties. Their goal is to exceed expectations. And, they do. Every.single.time.

The new property needed work to get it ready for market. Take a look at the before pictures:

Enter Diana and Jill.  With their help, we were able to get it ready in no time at all. It was a combined effort, but when you have an efficient and responsive team, things are pretty seamless, even fun! Did I just say that? Usually, I find the work of prepping a rental property for market anything but fun, but these two made it fun. And, they made it perfect.

I’m a big believer in hiring experts in their field. Paying for top notch professionals who are experts in their craft makes complete sense to me. I’m by no means equipped when it comes to property management. My wheelhouse is sales, so why wouldn’t I hire the best in the property management field? Why spend all your time doing something you don’t enjoy? Or frankly, aren’t any good at it just to save a few bucks? It makes complete sense to me to do those things you’re good at and to hire good help when you need it.

When it comes to managing your property, be sure you hire those who have your best interest at heart. You and your property deserve the best in service and care. There is no doubt in my mind that hiring true professionals will benefit me (and you) in the short and the long run. I know I’m in good hands with Diana and Jill and you will be, too. They’re hard working. Efficient. Professional. They’re the best. Truly.
