Talk Story #18 'Hawaii Lifestyle' Includes Even the Beauty of Fireworks
The weekly fireworks display is eagerly awaited by visitors and residents alike
A Friday night special! Video taken at the Hilton Hawaiian Village beach area
Often, on a Friday evening, I sit high up on my Moana Pacific condominium balcony, with a favorite beverage, and watch the sailboats maneuver and anchor just out beyond the Ala Wai Boat Harbor. There is a slight breeze in the balmy air.
Day time traffic slows down, and a more peaceful time of day begins. Families often gather on Magic Island with their favorite “take out” food. Like me, I think everyone is quietly waiting for that anticipated time when exciting loud booms start and the sky fills with bursts of colored light.
Dusk at the Ala Moana Beach Park, The Moana Pacific twins, and Uraku condominiums nearby
The Moana Pacific twin towers condominium is just one of the newer high rise properties with lovely recreational amenities, undercover parking, and perfect for second, or primary home living. I know, I live there. If you have been considering Oahu island and being near Waikiki, with all it has to offer, contact me and let us ‘ talk story’ about what you really want for your own “lifestyle of living” here in wonderful Hawaii.
I am happy to send a selection of available properties within your price range and desired size to review. From the ‘Gold Coast’ properties on the Diamond Head side of Waikiki, along the way to the Hilton’s beach area and their special Friday night fireworks next to the Ala Wai Boat harbor, or on over to Ala Moana and Kaka’ako areas.
Many condominiums have ocean view units oriented such that one can stay home and still enjoy the weekly sky show. Of course, it is always so very pleasant to stroll along the beach at evening time, perhaps listening to Hawaiian music such as Hanohano Ka Lei Pikake, being played at one of the Hotel courtyards or restaurants.
You too can be like the couple still in the water, watching the cruise boat glide by and the sun set. I wonder if they joke about hearing the sun “sizzle” as it drops into the ocean! Hawaii beckons, and I am looking forward to your call, or getting an email. With warm Aloha, Jeanne@HawaiiLife.com
Note: In Hawaii, there is often a gathering of family and friends, and in a casual way stories are told of that days happenings, or past events. We call it “Talk Story.” My continued series will be about different places around Oahu with a bit of their history, and the many opportunities for you today. I would love to hear about your personal Hawaii memories to share, perhaps during the territorial days, like I was, growing up out Koko Head way. Hawaii is a special place and so are the people. Follow me as we discover a lifestyle best suited for YOU. Whether it is a new military move, a casual beach house, a downsized retirement home, a golf course fronted resort home-away-from-home, a grand residence with superb view, or a high rise condominium, the choices and the Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers resources are many. I am interested in your desires and needs for the future…or let’s just “Talk Story!”
