Spotlight On Aina Haina | Oahu Neighborhoods

Are you looking for a wonderful residential neighborhood on Oahu? Do you want to live close to Kahala? Diamond Head? Waikiki? If so, consider Aina Haina. In the Hawaiian language, Aina Haina means “Hind’s Land.” The name fits given that the town was named after a local dairyman, Robert Hind. The entire valley was occupied by the Hind-Clark Dairy until it was sold in the 1940s to make way for development.

Blend Of Midcentury And Modern Homes

Though most of the homes were built in the ’40s and ’50s and are single-wall construction, don’t be surprised to see new construction. Some new homes rival those built in neighborhoods like Hawaii Loa Ridge. The large, desirable flat lots are always in demand, but if you are looking for a view, the ridges are the place to be.

Convenient Oahu Location

Residents love Aina Haina’s easy access to their very own local shopping center, plus the Kahala Mall and the freeway. You will, too! It’s super convenient. The community is also a quiet and peaceful place. The neighbors are friendly. Many are retirees, though like most Hawaii neighborhoods, there is plenty of diversity.

Of course, there is a price to pay for paradise. Prices range from approximately $700,000 up to $1,700,000. But, for those fortunate to live in this charming neighborhood, the value lies not so much in their home equity, but in the sense of belonging to this wonderful community!
