There is no question that Kauai’s coastline is unsurpassed in its beauty. Queen’s Bath in Princeville is one example of Kauai’s attractiveness. The rugged coastal rock formation forms a natural swimming pool that is breathtaking from near and far. Its pristine location and variating hues created by the interaction of sunlight and water make for a haunting invitation to enter in. But do not be fooled by nature’s subtle beauty. Within seconds, the beast of the beautiful bath can emerge…without warning, as evidenced in the pictures below.

Safety Tips
Growing up on Kauai, we were taught to sit on the shore to study the ocean’s wave patterns before going in. A hard thing to do for a little kid who just wants to go swimming. So before venturing out into Kauai’s water…
- Respect your surroundings
- Assess the situation before going in
- Be honest with yourself about your limitations
- Gather information about the area
Also, be sure to check out the daily report on Kauai’s ocean conditions.

Tim, great tip. This is one of if not my favorite areas on the island, please treat it with respect.. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way.
