Welcome to Poipu Bay! This is the player’s guide to navigating this Kauai golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It’s also where lefty Phil Mickelson holds the career low round, shooting 59 in 2004!
The greens are seashore paspalum, which means there is no grain on these greens, so the breaks may not break as much as they appear to the eye. You are going to want to show up early for your tee time on this one; 30 to 60 minutes early is what I recommend. This course is equipped with a phenomenal driving range, two practice putting greens, a green side bunker practice area, as well as some fantastic and knowledgeable staff. The golf carts are equipped with two coolers, satellite radio, and a bluetooth speaker connection everything you need for an unforgettable day at Poipu Bay.
After the round, dont forget to go to Kauai Poke Co. in the clubhouse for some after-golf treats. If you want to check out my other golf blogs check out this one on Kapalua Golf’s Plantation Course. If you enjoyed this blog, let me know how you played in the comment section.
