New Hotel in Wailea: Marriott Residence Inn

Maui visitors (and locals too) have stopped by the Keala o Wailea Sales Office at The Shops At Wailea to inquire about the construction going on in Wailea Ikea Drive. These inquiries have happened  even before the Keala o Wailea broke ground and started site construction.  People asks: “Is that construction going on the condo you are building?”  Wailea Realty agents would then explain that it is not the Keala o Wailea condo, but a new hotel coming up.   “What hotel?” is usually the next question they asks.

This new hotel was previously called Piilani Suites Hotel.  Later the name was changed to Residence Inn. In Marriott Residence Inn website, It is scheduled to open in June 2016 (according to their website).  Here’s an excerpt from their website, to get a glimpse on what Residence Inn is about:

“Truly unique amongst hotels in Hawaii, the island’s first Residence Inn by Marriott offers a comfortable, stylish retreat at a substantial value. With breathtaking ocean and upcountry views and a warm, friendly staff, our Wailea area hotel in Maui has everything needed to create memorable Hawaiian experiences. “Residence Inn is a 200-room, 4-story hotel located on the northwest corner of Wailea Ike Drive and Wailea Ekolu Place below the Wailea Gateway.  This is across the course from Keala o Wailea but will be below the sight line.  The hotel will be located on a 6.37-acre land parcel and is designed with breakfast area, market, exercise room, 1,800 square feet of meeting space, resort style pool and spa, outdoor sports court, and BBQ area.”, as mentioned by Dan in his post Look What’s Building Here in Wailea“.

This new hotel will be more affordable than the other luxury hotels in Wailea.

While doing some research on Residence Inn for this blog post, I stumbled upon a Youtube video of the Residence Inn construction update from R.D. Olson Construction that I thought would be good to include here. This was uploaded on January 9, 2016, a recent update.

Residence Inn is now accepting reservation. Here is the link to their website.

Now if you are interested in Keala o Wailea, you can join the interest list here.
