An Evening of Music, Wine, & Roses at Hualalai Four Seasons Resort

Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is scheduled to kick off its 2015 season at Hualalai Four Seasons Resort. On February 21st, the series begins with “An Evening of Music, Wine, and Roses” at a spectacular private waterfront home overlooking Hualalai’s golf course and North Kona’s beautiful coastline. 

Guests will be served an array of delectable appetizers while enjoying an intimate concert with Hawaii’s top classical artists. The dazzling evening includes performances by Ignace “Iggy” Jang, concertmaster of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, who will be joined by Welsh-born soprano Rachel Schutz, and pianist Johnathan Korth.

Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is a unique non-profit organization with the mission to “promote the appreciation and advancement of classical music and musical theater, to offer a world-class music training and performance program in the inspirational setting of Hawaii, and to improve the education and elevate the spirit of all who participate, especially the local community.”

According to its website, the organization “brings together an outstanding faculty of internationally recognized performers, directors, and teachers with a select group of aspiring music students from all around the world for an intense study and performance program.”

What Makes the Festival So Unique?

What makes the festival unique is that many of the performances are hosted by private homeowners in communities such as Kukio, Hualalai, and Mauna Kea. Residents open their personal homes for small intimate performances that help support the organization while providing unique venues around the Big Island.
