Mauna Lani Resort (Resort Membership) – Private Beach Access + More!

As you already know, the Big Island has excellent weather year-round. One of the perks of owning property, living on the Island, or even visiting is purchasing an exclusive membership at the hotel/resorts. This enables you to enjoy the many benefits of the outdoor lifestyle that they cater to. Owning a resort property will give you access to these memberships too.
Here on the Big Island, there are great options for resort memberships. Today, I will talk about the Mauna Lani Resort membership known as the Mauna Lani Advantage club.
A Bit About Mauna Lani
Mauna Lani Resort is a luxury resort community surrounded by two 18-hole golf courses (North and South). The community features the historic Fishponds, the newly renovated Auberge Mauna Lani Hotel, the Fairmont Hotel, and a shopping center with restaurants and luxury shops.
Access to the Beach aka the Beach Club
You are starting your morning with a great cup of Kona coffee, and the family decides to spend the day at the beach, of course! There are many beach choices to choose from, and if you own a home in Mauna Lani Resort, you are granted full access to their private beach!
One of the best features about Mauna Lani is their private beach that only homeowners have access to during the day. It’s a small white cove beach surrounded by palm trees. To the right of the beach are the unique Mauna Lani fishponds, and to the left of the beach is an excellent coasts path and the spectacular Black Sand Beach Homes.
The Spa and Fitness Center
The Spa and Fitness center at Mauna Lani has it all. Tennis courts, a lap pool, and a large fitness center. Many of the condos have amenity centers with only a couple of exercise machines. It is convenient to have a large fitness center with classes and much more. All to keep you fit and healthy!
Golf Golf Golf
Of course, with ownership at the Mauna Lani Resort and the owner’s special membership card, you are granted VIP access to golf. You can play when you want and don’t have to worry about the best tee times. Enjoy playing a great round of golf or spend all day on the course! The perfect life!
Resort Properties
The resort’s area is in what is considered the dessert area of the Island. The sun is almost always shining, it’s a perfect 74 degrees, and the area has the best beaches on the Island. With these features, the area is highly desirable and a great place to call home.

I’m very curious about the private beach. Since all beaches are publicly owned and/or controlled in Hawaii, and shoreline public access is an important common law right that is shared by local residents and visitors alike, how is this beach kept private?

There is a private parking lot for residents only of that community to access the Beach Club, the rest of us have to walk through beautiful terrain to access 😁
