Growing up on Maui, Fourth of July was about the Makawao Rodeo and fireworks in Lahaina. I’ve missed these things over the past couple of years and it’s good to have them back.
Makawao Stampede Rodeo
July 1 – 3, 2022
Oskie Rice Arena
Olinda Road, Makawao
The Makawao Town Rodeo is on this year! This is an island favorite event. Pre-show starts at 5:00 pm on Friday, followed by the bull bash at 6:00 pm, and 11 am on Saturday and Sunday with Rodeo Finals beginning at 1:00 pm. Food, crafts, and prizes make for fun and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

Lahaina Fireworks
It’s official the Lahaina Fireworks are back on this year. The fireworks show is set to start at 8:00 pm. Live music and entertainment offered at Campbell Park before the fireworks beginning at 5:00 pm.
You can watch the fireworks show from any ocean view point along Front Street as well as from some of the oceanfront restaurants or book a boat tour on one the several cruise and tour companies offering fireworks cruises from Maalaea and Lahaina Harbors. Great way to catch front row seats to sunset and the fireworks!
Pride of Maui
Fireworks over the Pacific departing from Maalaea Harbor. All inclusive food and premium bar, mini-luau with Polynesian dancers, Hawaiian stories and music.

Summer 2022 Regatta Schedule
No races this weekend but I wanted to make sure you all knew the Lake ‘Ohana Scholarship info has been updated. Scholarships awarded to active members of Hawaiian Canoe Club enrolled or accepted in a 2-year of 4-year college. The scholarship will be granted on an individual basis. The amount will be determined according to the number of applicants. All applications must be submitted by Wednesday, July 20, 2022
