Excellent breakdown of the W Maui current situation and history. It appears the days of finding a home (non condo) in Lahaina for under a cool million are over. Options are more limited now than ever, and most are up the mountain, where you will pay more for bigger lots, need a landscaper/gardener and get stuck having to drive every day, not to mention those annoying monthly association fees. If you can get Jeff to find you one of those rare old derelict Lahaina shacks to renovate, one where you can bike your errands and bike to the beach, consider yourself incredibly lucky and don’t hesitate for a second. Thank you for the great information, Jeff. Lots to mull over, but in the end it is always location, location, location.
