Where to Find the Best Local Produce – Kauai Farmers’ Market Schedule

It should come as no surprise that Kaua’i, known also as the “Garden Isle,” has many wonderful farmers markets. Our amazing weather, consistent rainfall, and rich volcanic soil mean that we get to enjoy year-round locally grown produce. No matter what side of the island you’re on, it’s easy to find fresh and delicious eats almost any time. Farmers’ markets are the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors alike to enjoy locally grown Kaua’i products.

The Shops at Kukui’ula

The Kaua’i Culinary Market in Poipu takes place every Wednesday from 3:30pm to 6pm and offers a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables from more than 20 farmers. Tropical flowers, spices, pies, jams and street food are just a few of the things you’ll find here. Enjoy live music while sipping a drink in the beer garden and watch the chef demonstration which happens at 5pm weekly.

Kaua’i Community College

The Kaua’i Community Market in Puhi is every Saturday from 9:30am to 1pm. It’s one of the largest markets and some would say the best. Along with all types of fruit and produce, the market carries plate lunches, coffee, cheese, spices, honey, baked goods, jams and packaged food products like poi and kulolo. You’ll also often find local nurseries here who have an assortment of cut and potted plants.

Hanalei Farmers Market

It’s hard to imagine a prettier backdrop for a farmers market than the one in Hanalei. This market is every Saturday from 9:30am to 12pm and houses about 25 farmers and many food and craft vendors. Some of the offerings include salsa, jewelry, woven baskets, clothing and much, much more.

Sunshine Markets are sponsored by the County. While they typically don’t have as wide of a selection as some of the other markets and mostly consist of produce, they are still definitely worth a visit.
