Local Kauai Artist Tamra Corwin Showcases Art in Staged Listing
There is no disputing that staging a listing helps it sell faster and for more money than leaving it vacant. When it comes to staging, even a little bit goes a long way in elevating the experience for Buyers. Some Buyers have vision, but many don’t. As listing agents on Kauai, Hawaii Life take this mission seriously and works with their clients to stage all of their listings for maximum impact.
The staging installation process can take several days or even weeks of gathering items and curating a collection of artwork, furniture, bedding, towels and pillows to enhance the feel of the home. Each home is unique, therefore requiring new items and creativity with each listing. This part of the process has become a passion for Brenna Harrington, who began staging homes after the market shifted in 2007 and homes were sitting on the market for longer and prices dropped dramatically.
“It was a very good time for Buyers — there was an abundance of inventory to choose from. However, for Sellers, it was extremely competitive, and I found staging to be an amazing way to set a home apart from the competition. It was a price war and a beauty contest, and that was when I learned the importance of helping our clients set their homes apart from the rest.”
For their latest listing project, they decided to tap into the local talent pool of Kauai artists and are collaborating with a great local artist whose work is being showcased in their listing. Local Kauai artist Tamra Corwin, of Deep Water Kauai, has cultivated a niche in the medium of abstract alcohol ink, acrylic, and resin. Her pieces reflect the movement and beauty of the ocean. Much of her work is turquoise, blue, or ocean-hued; however, she had an amazing gold and black piece that complimented this home perfectly. It is available for purchase. You can find more of Tamra’s work at Hashi Fine Art and Hanapepe Art Night.
This home is currently listed for $595,000 in the Koloa/Lawai neighborhood on Kauai. Built in 1965, it has a mid-century modern vibe and a beautifully landscaped private lot that is fully fenced. This is a character home with lots of potential for a Buyer to come in and realize their own artistic vision.
