Makahū‛ena Estates is a new oceanside 10-homesite subdivision on Kauai’s South Shore. Each homesite is at least one acre in size, and list prices will be announced at a July 3rd on-site event. At last.
In 1996 Cook Inlet Region, Incorporated, also known as CIRI, acquired the 13-acre former Coast Guard parcel on the southern tip of Kauai, as a result of the 1976 Cook Inlet Land Exchange, which enabled the Alaska Native regional corporation to bid on federal surplus land throughout the United States.
In late 2016, CIRI Land Development Company (CLDC) began land improvements that included the grading and contouring of the homesites, and the installation of infrastructure improvements. The Anchorage-based real estate development corporation had been awaiting County of Kauai final subdivision approval since early 2018.
