This past weekend, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Hawaii Association of Realtors Leadership Academy (HARLA). As a Certified Speaker and Coach with the John Maxwell Team, I enjoyed presenting to this group of aspiring leaders. Sharing insights on what it takes to become a person of influence to a group of amazing individuals was inspiring and humbling. It’s not every day that you get to be in a room of stellar people all united in their desire to grow personally and professionally. Dedicated, committed, purposeful, and others-focused are just a few words that describe the 16 students who participated this year. What an amazing bunch of Realtors! Realtors who not only serve their clients well, but who desire to serve their professional organizations through leadership.
HARLA is a dynamic experience that combines individual study, group sessions, and actual project experience. The ultimate goal is to raise up and empower individuals to maximize their leadership potential. Leadership potential that will eventually be realized when graduates step into leadership roles within the Hawaii Association of Realtors, local Realtor Boards, and within their own companies and communities.
The 5-month training program culminated in a retreat in Volcano, Hawaii. What an ideal spot for a retreat and learning experience! At an elevation of 4000 feet, the climate is cool and refreshing. Located within a rain forrest and surrounded by lush tropical Ohia and Hapuʻu fern, it’s quiet and peaceful, magical and mystical. Volcano always leaves a deep and lasting impression on me, and this year, so did the HARLA class of 2023. I’m grateful for my small role in their experience and I look forward to working alongside many of the graduates in the future.
Congratulations to the 2023 graduating class of the Hawai‘i REALTORS® Leadership Academy (HARLA):
