An Exclusive Community at Mauna Kea Resort – Construction Ramps up at Kauna'oa
Lot owners at Kauna’oa show their commitment to the Kohala Coast’s future as construction of multiple custom estates gets underway!
Owners have started building again at Kauna’oa, Mauna Kea Beach Resort
Lots 3, 12, 18/19, and 21 are actively under construction. Lot 16 should break ground this month. Also in the design, or permitting phases, are lots 1, 7/8, 14, 6, and 20. It’s such an exciting time to see Kauna’oa take shape with big name architects like Shay Zak and deReuss, and expert contractors such as John Soderstrom and Maryl Construction. The attractive current price per square foot for building costs are just one incentive for owners to build their private estates now.
Expect the finished estates to be “beyond luxurious,” as the sold price tag of the most expensive double lot was $7.5 million (Lot 18/19). Now, with a developer view lot still available for under $1M, and a four bedroom, three and a half bathroom villa, #10A, asking $1.9M, it could be the best time to get in on the ground floor at Kauna’oa. For those who can’t resist luxury coupled with the simplicity of island living, this community can offer both.
Home owner getting ready to SUP (stand-up paddle board) with help from “beach boy;” direct beach access is a big plus to some Kauna’oa owners
I am privileged to spend a lot of time with friends/clients who own at Kauna’oa. It is obvious to me when I compare Kohala Coast communities, that Kauna’oa has become one of the most sought-after. Discerning owners recognize the intangible value of this pristine tropical resort location, combined with the superb amenities of Kauna‘oa and the legacy of the Mauna Kea Resort. Owners are validating this with their confidence to build their dream estates now!
P.S. If it’s not a multi-million dollar estate you’re looking for, but having access to Mauna Kea Resort would be a dream come true, consider the best ocean view condo buys at Kumulani or Wai’ula’ula. I’m just sayin’…”location, location, location!!”

Thanks for the update Annie. I find clients are responding quite differently to the community now that they can envision it with homes rather than just seeing bare lots. That, together with the developer’s price reductions, should keep the pace of sales strong.

Mahalo, Beth! Your comments are so true about people now being able to envision it with homes. A villa owner is slated to start construction on their single family residence just a few lots away. Good to see the confidence, yeah? Thanks!!
