Elevated 5-Acre Lot in the Meadows II Section of Kohala Ranch
So far this year I have already sold one lot in Kohala Ranch. There are dozens of homes under construction on lots built during the boom of the past few years. While many of the lots lingering on the market have challenges, my new listing (and the one I have upcoming) have the views and privacy buyers look for at the Ranch.
The first new listing is a prime 5-acre lot in the Meadows II section of Kohala Ranch. The original owner cut through the berm at the cul-de-sac to rough in a driveway to the elevated building site. Depending on which direction you turn your gaze, enjoy sweeping ocean, sunset and coastline views; views of Haleakala (Maui), Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualalai volcanoes; and the green hills of Kohala Mountain.
Lot 683 is located on the mauka (uphill) side of the Maluhi St cul-de-sac, affording unobstructed views over homes on lots below. On the northeast side of this lot the terrain is hilly, providing natural protection from the trade winds.
On the south side of the lot is a gulch, giving separation from the neighboring lot on the coastline view side. A broad relatively flat area just above the middle of the lot is where the original owners had picked out as the best building site.
My personal favorite views are these: the green puʻu (volcanic cinder cones) to the mauka (upland) side.
Kohala Ranch is a gated community with CC&Rs and design guidelines for consistency of the ranch aesthetic. The Ranch is located just north of the Kohala Coast resorts with their beaches, golf, restaurants and entertainment options, and shares the sunny year-round climate. Enjoy Saturday farmers markets in either Waimea (Kamuela) or Hawi town…approximately equidistant from your home. The two towns also have groceries, restaurants, medical services, restaurants, and art galleries.
