Maui Weekend Events – May 31

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui, we celebrate our graduates. Shout out to the Class of 2024, especially those from my alma mater Seabury and of course Lahaina Luna graduates who overcame so much this year to triumph. We are all so proud of you!

Besides the graduation parties and BBQs this weekend on Maui, we do have some fun events lined up. Friday night,The Exiles perform a Rolling Stones Tribute at Mulligan’s. Tsunami’s is also back this Friday night at the Grand Wailea for a special edition. The Maui AgFest and 4-H fair takes place this Saturday, during the day. The Fairmont Kea Lani presents Behind the Curtain: A journey through Hula on Saturday evening. And on Saturday night, Murray Thorne performs at ProArts Maui.

The Exiles – Rolling Stones Tribute at Mulligan’s

Maui’s legendary Stones cover band, The Exiles, will be playing at Mulligan’s on the Blue this Friday Night. Showtime is 8:00 – 10:00 pm. Advance tickets are $20. Tickets at door $25.

Tsunami’s at The Grand Wailea

Grand Wailea brings back Tsunami’s this Friday night.  Doors open at 8:00 pm and close at 1:00 am. Tickets are general admission for $40. The night will feature DJ Dan. Complimentary valet available. Proceeds benefit the Maui Visitor Industry Charity Walk.

Maui AgFest & 4-H Livestock Fair

The Maui AgFest and 4-H Livestock Fair takes place this Saturday at the War Memorial Complex. Fair opens at 9:00 am and closes at 4:30 pm. All the signature events will be back this year, including the Maui Legacy Farmers Pancake BreakfastGrand Taste, Keiki Zone, Maui 4-H Livestock Show and Auction, Grown on Maui Farmers’ Market, Ag Education, and food booths/food trucks. This year’s special series, “Taste Education,” features Grown on Maui guests and was part of AgFest’s beginnings back in 2010.

Behind the Curtain: A Journey Through Hula

Fairmont – Kea Lani presents Behind the Curtain: A Journey Through Hula this Saturday from 4:30 – 9:00 pm. This is an inside look into what it takes to prepare for and participate in the Merrie Monarch Festival. The Kumu Hula of each participating halau will offer some insight as well as a hana hou of the song and dance performed at the festival. Some of Maui’s finest local vendors will be on site as well.

Murray Thorne Deconstructed

Enjoy an auditory and visual show by Maui entertainer and rock songwriter Murray Thorne this Saturday night at ProArts Maui. Showtime is 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Murray Thorne will be playing songs from his albums as well as Celtic favorites and Pink Floyd covers. Accompanying the music will be a backdrop of images and video that Murray created to invoke lyrical imagery. Tickets range from $25 – $40.
