Under $1 Million in Makena? – Sales Price at Na Hale O Makena Drops to 2003 Level

I was stunned to discover that a 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom unit at Na Hale O Makena sold for under $1 mil. I don’t remember the last property (condo or home) located in Makena that sold for under $1 mil.

So, I did a little digging to discover that during the initial offering of this complex in 1993, those units were selling in the $800,000’s to high $900,000’s. Talk about motivated seller!

This property was the topic of a blog that I wrote when the listing was active, Best Buy on a Makena Beach Condo. I go into some detail about the complex if you’d like to read about it. I felt it was a good deal at $1,495,000, but someone got an amazing buy at $925,000.

Its close proximity to Makena Beach makes this complex very desirable. The building does not allow short term vacation rentals, so these units are used primarily as second residences.

There is currently 1 active listing (MLS# 345321) listed at $1,850,000. Based on this latest sale, I would find it unlikely that a buyer would be willing to pay that much money for a unit that is just 200 square feet larger.
