Week 8—Hawaiian Bananas Foster!

If you haven’t already tried Hawaiian bananas, you are in for a treat, as we have some of the tastiest bananas anywhere. If you love bananas, here is a recipe you will enjoy!

Hawaiian Bananas Foster Recipe

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup Hawaiian Kona Coffee Honey (or any premium honey)
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3 firm, medium bananas peeled
  • ½ cup dark rum
  • 2 Tbsp. coffee liqueur
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

Melt butter in a skillet. Stir in honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg; blend well. Cut bananas lengthwise, then in half to make quarters; add to honey mixture. Baste bananas with sauce until well coated. Carefully pour in rum and coffee liqueur; warm a few seconds. Liqueur may burst into flame automatically. If not, ignite with a long match. Baste bananas until flame dies. Serve with ice cream. Makes 4 servings.
