Upon my first visit to Hawaii, I fell in love with the Big Island’s natural charm right away. The spirit of Aloha and Hawaii’s rich cultural history are represented here more than anywhere else around the world. The simple lifestyle, laid back atmosphere, and people make this beautiful island second to none!

Like most, my story started with a visit, but before long, my vacation turned into an extended stay. I know first-hand how the island grabs on to you and before long you are hooked with a deep understanding of island lifestyle living.

Life flows here at a slow and patient pace. Fewer tourists, and a laid-back country vibe — make it a great place to relax. Whatever it is that thrills you – including water activities, hiking, retail therapy, eclectic cuisine, spa indulgences and luxury resorts with plenty of golf, tennis, yoga and fitness classes – you’ll find it here on the Big Island.

Thank you for your detailed information – and exhibiting your passion for life on the Big Island.
I lived in Hawaii (Oahu) late 70’s early 80’s.
I currently live in Fargo Nirth Dakota where the temperature has not been above 0 degrees F more than a few days. Currently -2 defeees F with windchill -32 degrees F.
My house in the historic street is paid off this last November. I have income as a widow recently and work part time.
My brothers and sisters live mostly in California, Oregon and Washington. No family in North Dakota.. we come here for my late husband’s tenured position at the University 19 years ago.
Is moving to Hawaii even a remote possibility? I have 2 young standard poodles and 4 kitties.
I would very much appreciate any information you can provide.
Sincerely,
Sarah Wells
