Sit here and enjoy the view from the Cliffs at Princeville on the North Shore of Kauai
Recently, I had the opportunity to spend some time whale watching while I was visiting a friend at the Cliffs at Princeville. My friend was staying at a condo in the Cliffs for a few weeks—during that time, I saw more whales than I have seen in the entire 10 years I’ve lived in Hawaii. (Probably because I’ve never lived quite that close to the ocean).
The Cliffs sits appropriately right on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. There is a very nice viewing area along the edge of the property, with seats and benches where you can sit and enjoy, and watch the whales, dolphins, albatross, and other island wildlife.
The whales are really such an amazing sight. It always stops my heart a little bit (in a good way!) when I see a humpback jump all the way out of the water and splash back in. And there is something special about sitting on your lanai, or in the outside seating area, and watching the whales while they pass through. It is one of the things I love about being here on Kauai.
I’ve tried many times to get a good photo of a whale spouting or breaching, but the best I’ve gotten so far is what looks like a little black dot in the middle of the ocean. I’m still working on it!
If you would like to own your own condo in the Cliffs at Princeville, there are several available for sale on the MLS. The prices currently range from $226,000 to $895,000.
The Cliffs is a great complex with many amenities including a beautiful pool, tennis, and much more. You can view a gallery of Cliffs at Princeville condos here, or contact me for more information.

I love the Cliffs at Princeville! The whales are right there in the winter, the Nene Goose love to land there on the grass, and the Albatross are often there too. Great spot!
