We Need to Talk!

Clearly there is a big list to cover when it comes to shopping for Maui real estate, and the online search takes you only so far. It is truly important, after all, it is a big investment at any cost, to have representation at land level!  Buying from afar especially calls for an agent that is going to be your eyes and ears, to coordinate and attend all the necessary inspections and calls for due diligence during the process of your purchase.

Not least, your Realtor in Maui needs to negotiate for you, throughout the deal. This is not just a one time slam dunk when your offer is accepted. The straight shot to the finish line is often not a straight one at all. A good agent will be a buffer to all the background noise and will act as your liaison to all parties involved and guide you along the way, through every bump and hurdle, to ensure your positive result.

Navigating zoning, language, terminology, escrow, procedures, not least lending in Hawaii, laws, pitfalls, taxes, HARPTA, FIRPTA, fee simple or leasehold land types, this may all be daunting to you if you have not transacted real estate in the 50th state before.

It really is a good reason to talk. In England, many years ago there was a British Telecom ad that ran with the slogan, “It’s good to talk.” I am going to adopt that very same phrase and encourage you, when it comes to buying real estate in Maui, it is indeed, good to talk!
