It seems like only yesterday when I drove down the hill to a vacant lot across from Safeway in Waipouli and entered a tent with some sample illustrations of what was about to become Kauai’s east side’s most luxurious condo complex.

The Waipouli Beach Resort was built by Unlimited Construction starting in 2005, and is luxury all-the-way. From the Merbau doors and crown molding, to the Peruvian travertine floors, and granite counters with Onyx back splashes, I think you get the picture. Oh, and don’t forget the Wolf Range and Subzero fridge. These units originally sold for as high as $2.3 million.

Yesterday, a bank REO unit listed for $305,000. I’ve got a short sale 1 bedroom unit (sleeps 4) listing coming up next week in the mid $200K’s. Below is a graphic of some of the more affordable units in the complex. Outrigger manages the front desk and the Oasis Restaurant adds a touch of dining elegance to the resort. If you want quality amenities, a salt-water pool with slides for the kids and grand kids, and convenient to Kapaa shopping, this might be the second home for you.
