Hawaii Life is proud to announce we have two listings at the Diamond Head Ambassador on Oahu’s Gold Coast.
Diamond Head Ambassador #502 (MLS# 1015476) is listed for $595,000
The Diamond Head Ambassador is one of the coolest buildings on the Gold Coast due to its unique architecture. Built in 1959, the building was originally called the Diamond Head Ambassador Hotel and used to sit on leasehold land.
Fortunately, these Co-op units are now are on oceanfront fee-simple land. In addition, this is only one of a few buildings on the Gold Coast that have a swimming pool. There’s a mix of studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units. We’ve currently got the following two listings for sale:
- Unit 403 (MLS# 1014239) is a 2 bed, 2 bath priced at $698,000
- Unit 502 (MLS# 1015476) is a 2 bed, 1 bath priced at $595,000
Both units have some great things to offer. Unit 403 is rare in that it has a second bathroom, however, the same size as the 2 bed, 1 bath units. 502 is unique in that the 5th floor was originally going to be the penthouse level in the building, therefore, the ceilings are significantly higher. The current penthouse (6th floor) was apparently an “afterthought” and you can see how the lines are different.
Contact me if you’re interested in more information on these great listings, or anything else on Oahu’s Gold Coast.

I’ve always loved that building. As a kid I used to stay with family friends in the building next door on visits to Oahu. Seems like an incredible deal now that is is fee simple. Can you vacation rent these units?

@Erik- Most likely the DHBH (Diamond Head Beach Hotel) is where you were at. It’s still a great place to stay on the Gold Coast as it’s one of just 2 places that have short term/daily rentals. The building is now individually owned condos, however they’re leasehold. I always recommend it to clients looking to stay while they’re getting a feel for the area before they buy.
