Tucked away in Hawaii Kai’s last valley before hitting Waimanalo, you’ll find Kalama Valley. One of Hawaii Kai’s few neighborhoods that allows for a quick walk to the beach, Kalama Valley offers more than just that.
Activities in Kalama Valley
Kalama Valley Community Park
Filled with kids most days — this park offers two playgrounds, basketball courts, and a huge, open field.
Hawaii Kai Golf Course
Although not technically located in Kalama Valley, it sure is close enough. In fact, from Mokuhano Street — there’s a way to walk to the driving range. Permitted? Not sure. Regardless, less than a 5-minute drive to the driving range or par-3 course.
Koko Crater Botanical Garden
Love plumeria trees? Check out Hawaii Kai’s Botanical Garden. One of my favorite places for a nice walk with plumeria trees of every color, everywhere you look.
Places to Eat in Kalama Valley
Ono’s Seafood
One of my favorite places to grab a poke bowl. You may have seen the famous red truck parked alongside the road, serving up poke lovers across the island. But, did you know there is a physical location right in the Kalama Valley Shopping Center?
Thai Valley Cuisine
Evil Jungle Curry with a side of sticky rice, anyone? My go-to order at Thai Valley Cuisine also located in the Kalama Valley Shopping Center. They’ve got an extensive and yummy menu — with spice levels to please everyone. Also, BYOB.
