Have you seen Sakura in Hawaii? Do you know what Sakura is? Sakura is a beautiful flowering tree. If you’ve been to Japan, you’ve likely seen Sakura. There are also cherry blossom trees in Hawaii!
Sakura In Wahiawa
In two weeks, you have an opportunity to see Sakura in full bloom. Take a ride to Wahiawa! You won’t be sorry. It’s worth the drive!
All along California Avenue, you will see beautiful blooming Sakura. And not just any Sakura. Double pink Sakura. All the way from Okinawa.
Over 40 years ago, Okinawa gifted the Wahiawa community with the gift of these lovely seedlings. The residents of Wahiawa made a community decision to plant the Sakura in their front yards. For all to enjoy. As a result, you can appreciate the beauty of Sakura in full bloom.
Wahiawa’s climate is perfect for this beloved tree. Much like Japan’s. The blooms come early in Hawaii, so mark your calendars (early February) and take a drive to Wahiawa.
You’ll be glad you did!
