This restored Honoka’a plantation home on one acre with huge ocean views and seasonal stream is now being offered at a new price! As the gateway to the Hāmākua Coast, Honoka’a provides the first unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean traveling down from Waimea. This talked about ocean view is one of the best features of this Spencer Road property for sale!

The ocean can be enjoyed from almost every room in this beautifully renovated plantation home. Another cool feature is the seasonal stream and swimming hole that borders the northern rim of the one-acre lot.

Historical & Modern Day Honoka’a
Honoka’a is a quaint village fronting the ocean and was built in the 1920s and 1930s by Japanese and Chinese workers who quit the nearby sugar plantations to start businesses that supported the economy. The plantation is gone, but the town lives on in the light of those who have settled there. The people of Honoka’a love and appreciate their sweet town. They have maintained and kept intact the historic character of the buildings, including the historical Honoka’a People’s Theater.

Current day merchants are friendly, happy to be there, and they provide a nice reason to stop and stroll. Interesting galleries, cool antique and local shops, as well as a variety of restaurants all add to the charm of Honoka’a town. The close-knit community is thriving and the town continues to gain recognition for its fun monthly events and community involvement.
One of my favorite events is “First Fridays.” This event rocks! On the first Friday of every month, restaurants and stores stay open late and the sidewalks fill with booths and crafts, live music, and fun. People drive from miles away and other towns to enjoy this monthly community event.
Visit Honoka’a, and you may want to stay!

What a gorgeous house. There’s nothing I love more than a restored vintage Hawaii house.
