Quality New Construction… That’s My Takeaway

I did it! I just did a walkthrough at the Cottages on Ali’i Drive. No surprise, I was met with everything I had expected from a Stanford Carr project.

You know that sound you get when you slip into a brand new Mercedes and close the door? It’s a tight acoustic effect that exudes quality from the inside out. That’s exactly what I felt when I closed the entry door behind me and walked through the entire home. One word came to mind, Solid.

I have been keeping a close eye on this new subdivision since they announced it back in early 2022. With minimal new residential development happening in the Kona area, it’s exciting to see this quiet and conveniently located project come up from the ground.

If you have read some of my earlier blogs, you know I’m a big fan of new construction. Having built three homes here on the Big island for my wife and me over the years, it’s always refreshing to see a home built with up-to-date building codes and modern design features in place. Not to mention that sweet feeling of moving into and living in a brand new space that has zero wear and tear from previous owners. Kind of like that new car interior smell too.

The design of the first model I entered is Plan #5 Plantation style offering 3 bedrooms upstairs, and 2 and a half baths and a spacious kitchen and living area on the ground floor. The components and design speaks to the needs of todays discerning buyers in my opinion. The flow of the floorplan felt natural and each layout made good sense. There are Six floorplans to choose from with two of them being single-level homes, 3 and 4 bedroom plans are available. Each home is equipped with split AC units installed, spacious kitchens and open concepts in each as well.

Model number two is Plan #6 Craftsman style offered 4 bedrooms and 3 and a half baths. The primary bedroom on the ground floor and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Perfect for privacy from the kids or guests.

About the Cottages on Ali’i Drive
