Princeville Makai Golf Course: How to Score

Welcome to Princeville Makai Golf Course. This is the player’s guide to navigating this North Shore Kauai golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones.

The greens are seashore paspalum, which means there is no grain on these greens, so the breaks may not break as much as they appear to the eye. You are going to want to show up early for your tee time on this one; 30 to 60 minutes early is what I recommend. This course is equipped with a phenomenal driving range with waterfall views, practice putting green,  as well as some fantastic and knowledgeable staff. The golf carts are equipped with a cooler, satellite radio, and a bluetooth speaker connection everything you need for an unforgettable day at Princeville.

After the round, dont forget to go to 1 Hotels Hanalei Bay close to the clubhouse for some after-golf treats. Hole 1. 427 yard par 4 aim at cook pine tree to have the best angle in bunker on the right is reachable

Hole 2. 570 yard par 5 230 to the bunker on the left and 250 to the bunker on the right so slide it right in between those puppies. The long bunker on the left is approximately 100 yards in a perfect distance to leave yourself coming in to make birdie on this iconic par 5.

I hit a solid pw, and was pin high, which is a 135 club

Hole Hole 4. 334 yard par 4 aim at the bunker on the right side of the green for a great angle in add 8 to 10 yards for elevation for the approach per shot

Hole 5. Par 5 500 yards in between the bunker on the right and the pumphouse in the distance add 5 yards for elevation shot into the green

Hole 6. Par 4 431 yards hit it right down the middle

Hole 7. Iconic part three long better than short

Hole 8. A smart place to hit it 180 to 200 up the left-hand side or if you wanna take the tour line fire at the flag.

Hole 9. 368 par 4 250 to the bunker on the left and 250 to the bunker on the right put it right in between them

Hole 10. 363 yard water on the left side stay right at all costs 220 would be a great shot of the tee

Hole  11. 479 yard par 5 the bunkers are both reachable stay in between them

Hole 12. Headed out to the right towards the big Monkey Pod tree the bunker on the left is reachable

Hole 13. Par 3 175 stay right side of the green or go for the center
