Happy Aloha Friday! This weekend, we have a few Maui events to share. Marty Dread is featured at tonight’s Kihei 4th Friday town party! The 18th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup takes place tomorrow morning. Additionally, you don’t have to wait for Halloween if you are ready for spooky now. Rather, sign up for a Lahaina Ghost Walk and set spooky season started whenever you are ready.
18th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup
Lahaina Town Action Committee, Outlets of Maui, Malama Nui and the County of Maui host the 18th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup this Saturday morning until noon. Meet up at the parking structure at the Outlets of Maui, 900 Front Street. Registration is on-site beginning at 8:00 am. Volunteers will use the Clean Swell App to add data to the International Coastal Cleanup’s marine debris database, which informs policy and debris removal efforts. So cool! Bring your own water bottle, gloves, and Aloha. Other supplies provided at event.

Maui Ghost Walk Lahaina
Learn the haunted history of Maui with a walking tour. During this tour, you will visit the royal graves, the old courthouse and old prison building as well as the banyan tree and some other rumored to be haunted spots around town. Your tour guide will share some haunted history of Maui and other Hawaiian Islands and discuss the Polynesian concepts of mana and amakua. There is a focus on seeing the paranormal through Polynesian eyes. This is an easy to moderate walk that will last roughly 1.5 hours.

Kihei 4th Friday town party takes place on the fourth Friday of every month. Last month was the re-opening event after pandemic pause and other town parties have not yet re-opened. This is such a fun event for the family with over 20 food truck vendors, local retail vendors, as well as a keiki zone with face painting and balloon twisting, hula hoops, bubbles, and quick science.
