Maui Weekend Events – October 25

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui brings Halloween fun among some other great options. Festivals of Aloha will be both in Hana and Wailea this weekend. Sugar Beach Events presents Beetlejuice for its Movie Night Under the Stars. Pacific Whale Foundation is offering two 21+ Halloween Cruises this weekend. The Shops at Wailea presents Keiki Halloween this Saturday night. The MACC partners with IMUA Family Services to offer a free Halloween Festival and Cinema to the community on Saturday. Then on Sunday, another great free community event by the MACC is the 17th Annual Ukulele Festival. And lastly, we have a couple MIL football games this weekend on Maui as we wind down the football season.

Festivals of Aloha

The Festival of Aloha Hana kicked off Monday and continues through the week closing out Saturday night with Hoike Night at Hana Bay.

The Festival of Aloha picks up this weekend in Wailea at the Four Seasons. The opening ceremony begins on Friday at 9:45 pm in the lobby. Live Aloha vendors and Artisans will be available in the Lobby Lounge from 10:00 am – 7:30 pm on both Friday and Saturday. See demonstrations of traditional poi pounding and coconut weaving. Friday night feature is Carmen Hulu Lindsey Leo Ha‘iha‘i Falsetto Contest. Koa Canoe Presentation on Saturday outside of Salon A. Saturday night feature is Hula is the Heartbeat showcasing some of Maui’s most prestigious Hālau from 6:00 – 8:30 pm with doors opening at 5:00 pm. The festival closes on Sunday with Sounds of the Sea, a free evening of Hawaiian music on the Oceanfront lawn starting at 6:00 pm.

Movie Night Under the Stars – Beetlejuice

Sugar Beach Events presents Movie Night Under the Stars this Saturday night. The featured movie is Beetlejuice.  Bring your blanket or beach chairs and enjoy the movie under the stars. Food and drinks will be available for sale.  Movie starts at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Get there early so you can set up a good viewing spot. Click here for event info and reservations.

Boos & Brews Halloween Cruise Ma’alaea

Pacific Whale Foundation will be offering two Boos & Brews Halloween Cruises this weekend and one next. These will be 21+ cruises with live DJ, appetizers and cocktails as well as a costume contest with a grand prize. A cruise will go out both Friday and Saturday night at 5:30. Check in time is 4:45.

Keiki Halloween at the Shops at Wailea

The annual Keiki Halloween returns to The Shops at Wailea this Sunday. The event includes trick-or-treating, a balloon artist and a costume contest with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for a few categories. Registration between 3 and 4:30 pm.  Magic show from 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Costume contest from 5 to 6:30 pm.  Trick-or-treating and balloon animals through event from 3 – 7 pm.

Keiki Halloween Festival & Cinema

The MACC and IMUA Family Services partner to present a Keiki Halloween Festival & Cinema this Saturday afternoon. Doors open at 4 pm. Activities include trick or treating stations, live music from DJ Boomshot and Marty Dread, and farm animal petting. Movies showing will be It’s the Great Pumpkin – Charlie Brown and Hotel Transylvania. Food and beverage will be available for purchase from 4 – 8 pm.

17th Annual Ukulele Festival

The MACC presents another free community event this weekend with the 17th Annual Ukulele Festival this Sunday afternoon. Gates open at 1:30 pm. Featured artists include Jake Shimabukuro with special guest Mick Fleetwood, Paula Fuga, Kanekoa, Derick Sebastian, Arlie Asiu, Andrew Molina, and Anthony Pfluke. Food and beverage available for sale from 1:30 – 7 pm.

MIL Sports

This is the final week of Division I Football. We have two games this weekend. Friday’s game, Kamehameha Schools Maui takes on King Kekaulike at KS-Maui. Saturday night, Lahainaluna plays Maui High in Lahaina. Game time is 7 pm for both games
