Aloha friends! The sun is back out and it feels great! That was a lot of rain and way too much gray skies. Hopefully you weren’t too affected by it and enjoying the sunshine and getting back in the water. We have a couple options this weekend to benefit local keiki. First the BookTrust is hosting a Sock Hop at Sugar Beach Events. Additionally, Kamalii Elementary is running a car wash in the Ceramic Tile parking lot in town. Besides the keiki, you can support local businesses at the Valentine trunk show at Da Playground Maui. Finally, the Sierra Club Maui hike this weekend is the beautiful Kapalua Coast.
The BookTrust Sock Hop
If you want to have some fun this weekend and support a great cause, The BookTrust is hosting a Sock Hop this Saturday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The event takes place at beautiful Sugar Beach Events. Complete with 50’s music, food and dancing this is sure to be a good time. ’50s attire is encouraged.
The BookTrust is a non-profit that helps deliver books and literacy to children who may not otherwise have access They have expanded to 21 states and have been active in Hawaii since 2004.

Valentine Sip-N-Shop at Da Playground Maui
Da Playground Maui hosts a Valentine trunk show featuring local small businesses. Event takes place this Saturday afternoon from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. This is a free event where you can sip and cruise checking out locally sourced gift items. Some of the featured small business include: Maui Shellery Designs, Sun Meets the Sea, Solongo Maui, Mellow Yellow Jewelry, Hanakini Swim, Salt Water Artisan Soaps, Upcountry Aloha Catalina Art, Hang Um Hawaii, Little Ocean Jewelry and Art with Love by Alba.

Sierra Club Maui Hikes
This weekend’s Sierra Club Hike is the beautiful Kapalua Resort Coastal Trail. The hike will take place Sunday morning at 8:00 am. Meeting at D.T. Fleming Beach Parking Lot and hiking the coast to Kapalua Bay. This is an easy 3.5-mile RT hike with optional detour to Makaluapuna Point to see Dragon’s Teeth. Swimming and snorkeling are excellent at both Fleming Beach and Kapalua Bay, so bring your gear if you’d like to take advantage.

Kamalii Elementary 5th Grade Graduation Celebration
If you are going through town Saturday morning between 8:30 am and noon, please stop at the Ceramic Tile parking lot. Get your car washed and grab a delicious treat provided by Kamalii Elementary PTA. All proceeds benefit the 5th Grade Graduation.
