Maui Weekend Events – August 2

Aloha friends! Wailuku First Friday returns this weekend on Maui. HCRA State Races take place on O’ahu this weekend. This month’s Comedy in the Garden features Helen Hong. Late Night at Mala features music and dining this Friday and Saturday nights.

HCRA State Race

Regatta Season ends this weekend with State Championships. Saturday’s Championship Race is hosted by Moloka’i and takes off from Ke’ehi Lagoon on O’ahu. Check in and canoe weigh-ins on Friday. Opening ceremony starts at 7:00 am Saturday morning. Lane sheet already available. Check out HCRA Paddler for more.

South Maui Gardens – Comedy in the Garden

South Maui Gardens presents Comedy in the Garden this Saturday night. Show features Helen Hong. You may recognize the stand-up comedian, actress, director, and producer. She’s appeared in Parks and Recreation. She has a regular spot on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! and hosts a trivia podcast called Go Fact Yourself. Doors open at 6. Show starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $28.

Wailuku First Friday

Wailuku First Friday returns this weekend. The town party features live music, art exhibits, local food vendors, and activities for all ages. They pulled out all the stops for the comeback this weekend and the entertainment lineup is great. Check out Wailukufirstfriday.com for more.

Late Night at Mala

For late night dining and entertainment, Mala Tavern presents Late Night at Mala. Late night at Mala offers a special late-night menu on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 pm – 12:00 am. The menu has a lot of unique and tasty items. The menu also features several delicious craft cocktails worth trying for yourself.
