Kalihiwai Ridge double rainbow mountain view
When my husband and I decided to make the move to Kauai, we spent a lot of time driving around researching different areas. We knew we wanted to live on the North Shore but were having a hard time deciding exactly where. We finally discovered an area called Kalihiwai Ridge also known as “Gentleman’s Ridge,” which is nestled between Kilauea Town and Princeville mauka side (mountain side).
I fell in love with the area the first time I drove up the Kalihiwai Ridge main road. What drew my attention immediately was privacy, the lots are more than 2 acres and have mature landscaping completely enclosing homes from view giving a plantation feel to the area. Traveling up Kahiliholo Rd. (main road) the views change from lot to lot, some border lakes and running rivers while the mountain views are plentiful as well as some ocean views. If horses are your passion, they will have plenty of room to graze and if gardening is your thing I can personally guarantee success. Fruit trees are in abundance and nothing is sweeter than stepping out your door for a little snack.
Several beautiful homes are currently available ranging in price from the low millions to upwards of $7 million. If building a home to your exact taste is more appealing there are a few 5—10 acre lots available ranging in price from the low $700K’s to over a million dollars.
If you are considering buying a home on Kauai and love nature, mature landscaping and above all else privacy please consider Kalihiwai Ridge. As a resident I know you will not be disappointed.

Yes, you are correct, Kalihiwai is one of the most beautiful spots on Kauai–and perhaps anywhere. The rainfall on the northshore creates this piece of paradise. No rain–no rainbows and your double rainbow is as good as it gets! Thanks for sharing. Lucy
