Join Hawai’i Life in Kahului to Support the 2023 Maui Film Festival

Hawai’i Life is excited to once again support the Maui Film Festival as returning sponsors. Held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s A&B Amphitheater from June 28 – July 2, 2023, the star-studded festival supports the local economy while attracting cinema enthusiasts, performers, A-list directors, and studio executives from around the world. Now in its 24th year, this annual celebration takes place in a predominantly open-air setting, under the stars in Kahului, Maui.

Find Your Spot Under the Stars at the Stardust Cinema

A one-of-a-kind film festival extravaganza, the Maui Film Festival’s Stardust Cinema features 16 Maui premieres viewed on a spectacular, 26’ x 19’ mini-jumbotron wall of color, magic, and bright light enhanced by the glow of the moon. Enjoy five compelling nights of cinematic artistry on-screen while savoring onolicious food and beverages. In addition to unforgettable nightly film premieres, attendees can also enjoy Kahiko-style hula, festival tributes, an eclectic mix of live music, and other nightly festivities in a casually elegant environment. 

Each night, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s gates open at 5pm sharp. All seating is general admission, which includes all films and festivities on that day/night. Grab your favorite blanket, low-back beach chair, or folding chair and head over early to find the perfect spot on the A&B Amphitheater lawn. While bleacher seating is also available in the back of the amphitheater, it is limited.

For a virtual cinema experience, stream the films of 2023 from the comfort of your couch or lanai. With the Maui Film Festival’s Speed of Light Virtual Pass, you can watch wherever and whenever it’s convenient for you between July 3 – 30, 2023.

This year’s virtual cinema showcases an array of over 50 short and feature film premieres from around the world as well as here in Hawai’i. From culturally and socially relevant feature film premieres by diverse storytellers to more than 35 inspiring, eclectic short film premieres, it’s certain to be an unforgettable experience.
