If Whales Bring Sales… Is Now a Good Time to Sell My Maui Property?
We are anticipating a busy Q4 season on Maui. The rare combination of historically low-interest rates and historically low inventory means that now might be an ideal time to sell your property in Maui. Plus whale season is just around the corner, and as they say here: “whales bring sales.”
In Hawaii, whale season — when Humpback Whales migrate to Hawaii from November through April — is traditionally the busiest time for real estate sales. So how’s the market looking this winter, you ask? In Lahaina, Maui, for instance, home sales have been exceeding new inventory for several weeks. As the supply and demand trends continue, the market will probably move into a Seller’s zone, and we are likely to see an uptick on pricing.

Condo sales? For instance, Puamana in Lahaina… condo sales prices haven’t quite picked up to pre-COVID, but the number of condo sales has been above average (11 sales to date in 2020 and the average is 8 per year). For more information on the busy Puamana real estate market, click here.
As Americans are moving out of the cities, they are attracted to safe, green neighborhoods on our island like Puamana in Lahaina and the Montage in Kapalua. The Montage offers luxurious full-ownership oceanfront residences. Click here for more information.
