Setting out to purchase your first home can be an exciting but daunting experience. Where do you start? With a trusted Real Estate Professional that will help you every step of the way. Buying a home is an enormous investment and not something that you go into blindly.
Starting Your Home Buying Journey
When you start on your journey, you will be building a team of professionals whose primary goal is to get you into your dream home with the least amount of bumps in the road. The first person on that team is your Real Estate Agent. From there, we will add your Mortgage Broker, who will let us know what price point you can afford and work with you to get all of your documents in order.
How Much Will Working With A Realtor Cost?
Now the next question…how much will that cost out of my pocket? The good news is that your Agent normally gets paid by the seller, which is great for you. There are some unlikely, very rare exceptions, but that will be explained to you during the first meeting. So, you will have a licensed professional working for you that some else pays for. That’s a pretty good deal.
Working With A Mortgage Broker
When you speak to your Mortgage Broker, they will lay out the expenses when you meet. There are so many great products available, and they will shop around to find the best product for you. Because of this, there could be little or no out-of-pocket expenses for you. The home loan is what makes or breaks most home purchases, so we make sure that you get a great person who knows what they’re doing.
When my husband and I bought our first property, we had a very nice real estate agent. He brought us through to the closing, and we actually got a good deal. But the one thing that stood out to me was that at the end of the transaction, we didn’t know anything more than when we started. We were basically handed papers and asked to sign. Then our Mortgage Broker was not very diligent, and we had to keep chasing after him. It was a good thing that it all turned out well anyway, but I now make sure that none of my clients have to go through that.
Get All The Facts
When decisions need to be made, you need the pertinent facts, possible ramifications, and of course, the recommendation of the professionals you are working with. The decision is ultimately yours, and something you are going to have to live with, so it is important that your team provides the information you need so you have the ability to make a quality one for yourself and your family.
After choosing the home you want to buy, the rest of the team will be added when we have a fully executed Purchase Contract. They will include professionals such as the Escrow/Title Company, Home Inspector, Surveyor, Appraiser, and some others that will come in as the transaction progresses. Of course, your Real Estate Agent will guide you all the way through.
A Realtor Guides You Through The Process
As a Real Estate Professional, my main focus is to guide and protect you through your real estate transaction. As you put your trust in me for one of the most important decisions of your life, I strive to make sure the whole team is always acting in your best interest.
