Mira Family Reunion – Sharing My Hawaii Life with Those I Love

Mira Family Reunion

This is my family on my father’s side…the Mira side. My grandparents lived in Kekaha and owned a candy store in Kekaha, “Mira’s Sweet Shop.” So we decided our 2015 family reunion should rightly be held in Kekaha. Family came from Arizona, California, Oregon, Montana, Oahu, Maui, Kauai…but none from Kekaha. There are no Miras in Kekaha anymore.

There was much laughter, “talking story,” reminiscing, music…actually lots of music. The last time my sons and their first cousins were all together was 24 years ago. That is too much time in between.

Two weeks later, one of the cousins in the picture above would suddenly pass away. He was not even 50 years old. So grateful that the last memory we shared with him was at our family reunion.

This is my Hawaii Life. Blessed.

The Mira Family Reunion was fantastic!! My family really enjoyed connecting with the all the members of the clan; what a joy to see everyone! And my gosh…so many young people…that’s a blessing. Us (now) older folks must teach the family ways and pass on the values of our previous elders.

I pray we can do this again in 2025. …from Orlando, Florida… Aloha.
