Did your child/children decide to flee across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii to pursue an education?! Did that give you a panic not knowing the environment or where they would live?! How understandable!
Story time! I received a call from a woman who found me online and was in a panic. Her son, who attends UH Manoa, needed a new place to live ASAP. His planned living situation with roommates didn’t work out and his room ended up not being available after all. Boy, am I grateful to thrive in stressful situations. We were able to put him into a rental studio for a short period that another client of mine had just purchased and renovated. What a win-win!
We still needed to find him a home long-term, though. Within all of the fear and stress surrounding his living situation, mom decided it would be best to kill two birds with one stone — purchase a vacation rental here, put their son in the rental while he is in school, have a guaranteed place to stay when they come to the island and can generate income during the holidays and breaks when everyone is back home!
*Plot twist!* The mom and dad ended up loving it here so much when they visited, that they decided to move here as well — the whole family is now on Oahu! I love a happy ending.
