Q&A  R.E.cap with Kana

Welcome to this edition of Q&A R.E.cap with Kana. First off, I wanted to say, we were blessed to receive so many questions that I just had to share some of them with you. Tons of questions were asked and we narrowed them down to showcase the top 8. They are listed below in no particular order.

Q: Do you normally have properties such as this one in this area?

A: No, this is an extremely rarely available home in Nuuanu.

Q: What is so special about this home in particular?

A: I would have to say the elevation makes this a special find. The high elevation allows for breathtaking ocean views and majestic lush mountain views. All other homes do not provide the same elevation to allow ocean views, a major plus for resale value.

Q: What do you yourself love about this home?

A: I just fell in love with the large open floor plan connected to the adjacent open kitchen which leads into the large covered deck. I think it’s perfect for entertaining family and friends.

Q: Is this a convenient location?

A: Oh yes this location is convenient because of its close proximity to downtown Honolulu and hospitals, it provides easy freeway access to both west and east bound commuting, and highly desired after for some of the best school districts.

Q: Any major work done on the property?

A: Yes some work was done and the interior has been previously gutted and remodeled to the most affluent taste. Improvements include an open kitchen, extensions to each bedroom allowing for large closet storage, and each room was fitted with their very own balcony.

Q: What’s the best room in the house?

A: Oh that’s easy, the master suite. It has been extended adding even more closet and storage space. There’s also a private loft nearby and a large balcony overlooking the lush Koolau Mountain Range and well-manicured backyard.

Q: What potential does this property offer?

A: There is lots of potential. The large yard allows for ample space to entertain guests. You could build a nice sized swimming pool with jacuzzi, a private outdoor shower with sauna, or build a 2/2 ADU unit to supplement and maximize your rental income. The possibilities are endless.

Q: Anything else you would love to share about this property?

A: Yes, but where to begin? Each level has the potential to create its own private entrance. The screen doors open up to the airflow from the cliffs of the Pali. There is always a strong cross breeze, air conditioning is not needed. The “unfinished” basement, a quaint 2/1 is actually well finished and would serve as a perfect maid’s quarters or mother-in-law suite or guest house. It remains really cool year-round and a perfect place to store fine wines. The exterior of the home is an “A” frame design allowing for maximum water drainage. Nuuanu is known to rain often and this house was purposely designed to withstand the elements. The wood shake roof is able to expand and contract with the elements and allows the roof to breathe, unlike other asphalt roofs that trap moisture and allows moss, algae, and mold to grow.
