I think the last real estate price jump killed a lot of lifetime dreams. I know it will keep me from coming home. Agents plan to keep it up there too. I know several, related to a couple… More fun to make $$$ off high priced houses than affordable ones… I know.
But….
I don’t think I want to live where you have to be rich to have a nice home. That breaks my heart to say…That is not what this island was when I grew up. Now, even Hawai’ians have to take the leftovers of trashy homes ‘under’ the insane price of $700,000. While real estate agents make $$$ $ mailing off the equity of wealthy home owners, the rest of us kiss our lifelong, deepest and most sacred dream a tear filled goodbye. Please remove me from your list, it hurts too much to even look any more. I’m a middle class manufacturer. You know, the “backbone of Amrica…” Everytime I try to move home, live by my brother… the prices go up another Quarter of a Million Dollars… 3bed/2bath, $1,000,000.+++ If you want a yard for keiki to play in, add another Million….
