A Community at Night | Exploring Kakaako Restaurants, Shopping and Amenities
Kakaako is just as beautiful at night as it is during the day. When the sun goes down, the community stays vibrant well into the night. New and existing Kakaako restaurants, stores, and street-level amenities cater to residents who call this Honolulu neighborhood home. People enjoy the outdoors with their friends and family, and many pet owners can be seen walking their best friends as well. My own puppy was very happy to be enjoying the evening with me. We had a very pleasant walk around the neighborhood. He, however, wasn’t very interested in posing for pictures.
Merriman’s at the Anaha at Ward Village
As I was making my way through the neighborhood, I felt the warmth of the tiki torches, took in the sounds and scents of the area, and I did a little window shopping. It’s always a different experience to leisurely pass by a business versus driving past it. There is so much to discover and to enjoy. Kakaako really does offer a lot of variety.
Ginza Sushi – one of many restaurants in Kakaako
Merriman’s at the Anaha at Ward Village is the newest restaurant in Kakaako, but there are many more still to come. Ward Village in Kakaako is growing, and new eating options will arrive with every new condo building added to the area. Small and large restaurants cater to every taste. From local cuisines to international favorites, residents of Kakaako have options for every night of the week.

Panya Bistro; one of many Kakaako restaurants
The list above is only a small sample of all the restaurants in Kakaako. Salt Kakaako offers many more options for residents, and the new businesses will continue to move into the new Ward Village master plan.
Ward Village amenities and groceries.
It’s not just the restaurants that make this area fun. All types of businesses are located within a short distance of one another. Consolidated Theatres Ward 16 is right between all the residences, largest Whole Foods in Honolulu makes grocery shopping easy, and a variety of small and large stores offering everything from barber services, home goods, to children’s clothing at the South Shore Market.

Wonderful Kolowalu park and playground located right in the middle of the community. The park is a favorite with parents and pet owners. Even in the early evening, it’s not uncommon to see it full of activity. The well-lit park is clean and welcoming.
I love living in a community that stays vibrant day and night and my puppy would agree.
Let’s stay connected
