Located on the slopes of Mauna Kea – the tallest mountain in the world – lies this gorgeous equestrian estate on more than 53 acres. Waiki’i Ranch is nestled in the middle of Parker Ranch at the 3,500-5,000 ft. elevation with rolling hills and miles of pasture land off Saddle Road.

Waiki’i Ranch Climate

With panoramic ocean and mountain views, your horse journeys will be filled with an abundance of memorable breathtaking experiences. Waiki’i Ranch has 10, 20, and 40-acre Agricultural zoned properties and enjoys a very pleasant climate. The air is dry with annual rainfall averaging 20 inches per year.

Summer temperatures range from the high 70’s to the low 50’s. The winter temperature range is about 10 degrees cooler. Mornings are usually clear and sunny with no clouds or wind until near noon. Some afternoons, clouds will roll in and cover the ranch, but the sky is usually clear by 8:00 PM. The nighttime sky has more stars visible than just about any other inhabited area on earth.

Waiki’i Ranch is located about 11 miles from the town of Kamuela and is nestled on the western slopes of Mauna Kea, a 13,800-foot high dormant volcano. The Ranch is over 3,000 acres in size and is gently sloping pasture mixed with groves of eucalyptus and Monterey Cypress trees.

About Waki’i Ranch

Two security gates control entry to Waiki’i Ranch. Commonly owned ranch facilities include 12 miles of roads, a clubhouse, recreation building, polo field, and an equestrian and rodeo facility. In the clubhouse there is an apartment that lot owners can rent on a nightly basis. The recreation center houses an exercise room with free weights, Cybex equipment, and a treadmill. There is also a racquetball court. 

Water is provided by two deep wells. Each lot has up to 20% of its land area dedicated to an agricultural easement for recreational purposes. The easements are fenced, so there are miles of unimpeded access for horseback riding and hiking. Standardized fencing that is owned in common encloses all lots, plus the perimeter of the Ranch. Utilities, including electricity, water, and phone, are underground. High-speed Internet access is available from Hawaiiantel and satellite TV is available through Dish Network.

The Private Arena

This is a private arena located on the estate for sale at 67-1229 Pakila Rd. The lucky horses that live here have a well-maintained property with lots of space for exercise and showmanship practices.
